Scheduling alone does not make practice feel alive. What you see, hear, measure, and produce on each card determines whether the habit feels like learning or like chores.


1. Add media

Plain text cards are easy to build and easy to ignore. Images, audio, or video make spaced repetition more engaging because they break the visual monotony of the same white box and black letters. A session that only flips text starts to feel like paperwork. A session that also shows a face, a place, or a sound has texture: something to look at, listen to, or recognize in a split second before you answer.

Track stats that reflect learning work: due reviews finished, honest grades, and growth in words or grammar you can use. Be cautious with vanity metrics.
