Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how LinGoat works, what makes it different, and what to expect when you practice.

What is LinGoat?

LinGoat is a language learning app built around real sentences. You translate into your target language, get detailed AI feedback on words and grammar, and each piece is scheduled with spaced repetition so reviews land when they help most, not on a generic timer.

Does LinGoat have a curriculum?

Yes. LinGoat follows an expert-created curriculum designed to take you from beginner fundamentals toward strong, confident use of the language. You move through a structured path while sentence practice, AI feedback, and spaced repetition still adapt to what you personally need to review.

How does the AI feedback work?

Your sentence is analyzed in detail: individual words and grammar concepts are scored separately. You see what was right, what to fix, and why, so practice targets your actual gaps instead of a single pass or fail score.

I don't want to study technical grammar. Will LinGoat still work for me?

Yes. You don't have to memorize grammar terminology for the app to work well. We offer explanations and labels when they help, and you can read more if you like, but you can also learn from sentences and patterns without treating it like a linguistics course. LinGoat is built to be useful whether you lean on formal grammar or prefer a more intuitive, example-based approach.

Why do my scheduled reviews increase as I complete reviews?

LinGoat tracks each word and grammar concept on its own schedule, not as a single lump. When you finish a review, the count can rise because the next review for that same item can still be due later the same day, or a mistake sends it right back so you can solidify it. Sometimes several related pieces become due around the same time. A higher number usually means the system is responding to your answers and to real spacing, not padding the queue for no reason.

Do I need to finish all my reviews every day?

No. You do not need to clear your entire review queue every day. Staying on top of reviews helps what you learn stick, but missing days is normal, and you can always pick up where you left off. If reviews keep stacking up and practice feels heavy, try lowering your daily new-word goal so the workload stays manageable.

Which languages can I learn?

Spanish is available now. English and German are coming soon.

Is LinGoat the same as Anki or other flashcard apps?

No. Anki and similar tools are general-purpose flashcard systems: you build decks, write prompts, and manage review timing yourself. LinGoat is a language app centered on full-sentence practice, with automatic AI grading and explanations on each attempt, so you focus on learning rather than maintaining cards.

Where can I use LinGoat?

LinGoat is available on the web at app.lingoat.app . Mobile apps are coming soon.

How much does LinGoat cost?

You can get started for free. Current offers and limits may change over time; check the app for the latest plans and features available in your region.
